CrackaJack

Sun Aug 9, 2009, 11:56 PM
(1) The N Woooooooord

Sooooo the other night I was playing Tetris and joined a room that was full of people volleying racial epithets waaaaaaay more than they were clearing lines. Cracker this and n*gg* that… Apparently this guy used the N word and in turn this white Canadian guy started to insert the word in all places that were grammatically possible while he was speaking - so as to mock the other guy. This went on for about 15 minutes… with each enunciation of the word you could sense the non-white guy tensing up more and more… you could hear it in his voice and see it in the way he was stacking his pieces - haphazardly, illogically - basically his sh*t was all over the place. Haha. At last, his ability to be resilient shattered and he hastily left the room. Meanwhile, the Canadian guy guffawed in all his glory for he had accomplished what he set out to do - be a DOUCHE BAG (not uncommon on Xbox live haha).

Eventually the Canadian left and the other guy popped back in the room to rant. He went on and on about how he couldn't believe that that guy felt that he had the right to say that word and blah blah blah. Annnnnnd the whole time I was thinking to myself what makes you think you have the right to say it anymore than he does. This guy was Latino not black… I could tell by his voice. Haha… Just take my word… even though you can't see people you can tell what race they are by their speech patterns. Soooo here you had the Latino bitching at all the white people in the room about how we can't use the N word - all the while pissing me off and annoying me more and more.

First off, before anyone starts thinking wrong of me - I DO NOT like the N word and I DO NOT use the N word. EVER. I totally agree with the guy as far as white people not being allowed to say it, however, it is in HIS assumed liberty that we begin to drift in opinion rather quickly.

I personally hate the N word and wish that no one would say it at all. But that will never happen, sooooo you learn to become oblivious to it and just accept the nature of the situation. However, even in this acceptance there are still rules - well a rule. ONE RULE: The only people that can use that word are the people whose pasts were so greatly affected by it and the stigma attached to it. Therefore, mi amigo, although you are not white you still are NOT included in the rule. You are an outlier just like the rest of us crackers - so stand down!

This whole situation prompts me to question why it seems as though it is becoming more socially acceptable for all non-white races to use the N word. I don't live in WHITEville, hardly, so it's not like I haven't witnessed situations where the N word is said by "non-whites" without "blacklash." haha... Hell, even J-Lo used it in one of her songs and she hardly got any sh*t for it. It doesn't make sense 2 me. If I was black I'd be b*tch slapping everyone who said it that wasn't black. You see if you give one group of people special privileges then this leads other groups to assume that they have the same privilege. All of this assuming can only ultimately produce one outcome - DRAMA! Thus, I think it should be exclusive orrrrr abolished all together (the latter being the more favorable option of course). Sooooooo what is it? A minority thing? I've never really heard anyone explain the true logic behind this leniency…

Also, the Latino guy brought up another good point after re-entering the room... he told a story about two of his coworkers… a black guy and a white guy… I guess one day the white guy said something like "why is it OK for you to say cracker and honkie but not OK for me to say n*gg*r?" And basically the black guy just said "because" while utilizing every bit of his being to hold back his nearly uncontrollable urge to knock the cracker out. Haha. Sooooooo I pose the same question… why is it OK? I honestly don't really care either way… I don't use the N word and am hardly offended by being called cracker or honkie. But at the same time, I'm curious to know how any sane individual cannot blatantly see the double standard?

This then also leads to the -a and -er endings… is one more offensive than the other? If that guy would have said "ga" instead of "ger" when he posed his question to the black guy would it have provoked a less intense reaction? When I watched Spike Lee's documentary "When the Levees Broke," I distinctively remember this one part where this white guy is recounting how things got completely unruly when people were trying to crowd onto the buses at the astrodome to get the f*ck out of the squalor… he said this of his fellow man: "These wasn't even n*gg*rs, they was animals." It was so brash and hateful -- I can't help but to think that his statement would not have been as potent had he used the -ga. It seems as though the -ger is equally as poignant in meaning as it is in pronunciation… yay? Or nay?...

Oh before I wrap it up I can't forget to mention the most ironic part… there was a black guy in the Tetris room the whooooooooole time and he was the least offended of everyone! Hahahaha…

Soooo yea, I'm going to stop there because I know people are like is that white guy really talking about this? haha Not to mention, I don't want any of the conservatives to think that I am giving Ann Coulter's argument that "liberals adopted blacks as their special victims" any validity.

(2) Annnnn Coulter

WOW, what else can I say. I'm reading her book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' And Their Attack On America." I haven't gotten very far yet, but as you'd guess I disagree with a lot she has to say. Big surprise, huh? Haha.

Exhibit A:

"Liberals are gays' biggest champions on issues most gays couldn't care less about, like gay marriage..."

I don’t disagree that a lot of liberals support gay marriage, but I do disagree when she says that gays don't care about the issue of not being able to wed. I think it's completely ludicrous of her to say such a thing. How do you explain all of the protests in California then? All of those gays, lesbians, and the rest sure put a lot of effort into not caring if what Coulter says is true.

Exhibit B:

She says the "liberal establishment" media claimed:

"that Larry Craig was a hypocrite because he opposed gay marriage - and yet he propositioned an undercover cop in a public bathroom! Hypocrite!"

And then she rebuttals with:

"But unless Craig proposed marriage to the undercover cop in the airport bathroom, I'm not seeing the hypocrisy."

Haha. How can you not see it? By opposing gay marriage Craig indirectly opposes homosexual conduct and therefore by propositioning someone to carry out acts of homosexual conduct he is a hypocrite. Duh.

Exhibit C:

She attacks single mothers (not divorced mothers or widowed mothers - these are the "little irresponsible tramp" get-knocked-up-before-you're-married single mothers) for a whole slew of things including increasing the poverty rate in America and for supposedly raising tomorrow's criminals. Now while she never explicitly says that she is attacking liberal single mothers, I can't help but to assume that she is - because after all if we're sooo liberal about everything else why wouldn't it apply to our sex lives as well? Only conservatives wait for marriage, us liberals can't fathom abstinence or celibacy. God forbid we even know the definitions of such foreign terms. Hahaha. Also, I think it is fair to say that she is attacking liberal single mothers because her whole book is an attack on liberals (well thus far anyway).

The point I wanted to raise was that she speaks ill-ly (ill doesn't sound right haha) of a Democrat with a daughter who is a single mother during the course of a rather long paragraph but never once stops to mention Sarah Palin's daughter. A pretty convenient omission don't you think? Bristol is like the most famous single mother of 08/09.

There are more things that I disagree with but I'm not trying to turn into one of those political bloggers. Haha… In all fairness to Ann too, I do have to say that I do agree with some of the points she makes - this is why I think it is important to at least entertain others' view points even if they don't generally coincide with your own… makes life richer…

(3) Whitney Houston

I bought Whitney Houston's single "I Look To You" from iTunes the other day… annnnnnd pre-ordered her album. Haha...

[link]

I like the song, but I can't help to notice that her voice doesn't soar like it used to. I know things go down hill with age, but in addition to aging I think the fact that she took her amazing talent for granted for sooo long (i.e. the drrruuugsss) has finally caught up with her - it's pretty sad. But we all take our blessings for granted soooooo I guess you can't really place blame without being hypocritical. I wish the best for her and hope that she sees her re-acceptance as a gift and not as something that is deserved just because she is Whitney… I think her comeback is going to blow Britney's out of the water. Hahaha…

Oh and you have to see the album art too… look at that nose… and the lighting on the forehead... as a Photoshop connoisseur I can say that someone did not have the magic click. haha

(4) Beautiful Eyes

A woman picking up a script at Walgreens today said to me "I just had to tell you that you have the most beautiful eyes" and I just wanted to publically thank her cuz I sho' been feeling real BLAH lately and she totally made my day. Hahaha O:)

Reminds me of secret someone posted on postsecret.com

I think that is like one of the nicest things you could ever say to a person. I love it. It's all about the random acts of kindness people!

OH that also reminds me of another thing haha, on a couple of occasions (at Walgreens) people have given me book marks with psalms or church brochures and have told me "May God bless you." and all that. Annnnnnnnnd I always wonder if they are doing it because they are trying to be good Christians or if it's because they think I need to be saved and fear that my eternal salvation is in danger????... I don't care if they are trying to be good Christians but I can't help getting a little offended if they think I need saving… it's kind of like asking a fat woman if she is pregnant. Hahahaha….

That's all for now folks… ciao!~
