I wish the world were a different place
that tears were not upon the face
of a mother who buries her child deep
into the ground for earth to keep
I wish that life were truly fair
that hate and intolerence were not there
to twist the souls of weary men
who take their lives and those of friends
I wish that some were able to see
the hurt in words they do decree
to those who may not seem to fit
with beauty deemed inadequate
I wish that money did not mean power
and that we were not upon the hour
of midnight on the doomsday clock
castastrophe... tick tock, tick tock
I wish the days did not slip past
like grains of sand slip through our grasp
but life is but a beam of light
whose glow doth fade into black night
I wish that more dreams did come true
that good intentions were not as few
as rainbows in a somber chasm
phenomena that which can't be fathomed
But in this life we get no wish
no stars to fill the black abyss
no genie to attain these notions
no magic spells or special potions
Life is not a fairytale
no sweet singing nightingale
We must become the change we seek
or look unto a future bleak...

Every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world's phenomena intersect, only once in this way and never again....
